Changes to State Health Benefits Plan

The open enrollment period for the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) began on October 1, 2015 and will conclude on November 2, 2015. Public employees eligible for participation in the plan have the option to change health plans during this time. Every year, the State Health Benefits Plan Design Committee (PDC), a joint committee of labor and management representatives, reviews the plans that are offered to the hundreds of thousands of participants. Below is a summary drafted by the union representatives of the PDC of some important changes to the benefits plan that you should be aware of before making your decision.
