HPAE members approve Rowan University contract!

On Thursday, December 1st, the members of HPAE Local 5094 and 5089 voted by an overwhelming majority of 99% to ratify our new contract with Rowan University.

This is the first contract we’ve negotiated with the University since the break-up of UMDNJ and the merger with Rowan in 2013.

We won a combination of across-the-board wage increases and step movements;  secured Rowan Tuition Waiver for employees; improved our arbitration procedure; and merged our professionals and registered nurses contracts. We  were also able to protect many of the benefits and standards we worked so long to achieve all while aligning much of our contract language with State policies.

We are looking forward to implementing the terms of the new agreement. We’ll share more details in the weeks to come. In the meantime, you can review the summary of the agreement and read the signed MOA at our website.
