Labor Board Issues Complaint Against Wanaque
The National Labor Relation Board (NLRB) has found merit in two Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charges filed by our HPAE local against Wanaque. The NLRB issued a consolidated complaint on January 26th, charging nursing home management with violating the labor law by suspending Abdul Umoru for four days while performing legitimate union duties and unilaterally changing the new hire wage rate for nurses at the facility.
Management now has to respond to the complaint by February 8th. If a settlement is not reached, the complaint will be heard by an Administrative Law Judge of the National Labor Relations Board.
