Local 5094 University Hospital negotiations update, January 22
On Thursday, January 18th, we had our second bargaining session with UH management. They responded to most of our proposals and gave us a new proposal on the resignation notice period. We did sign off on one tentative agreement regarding the drug and alcohol policy, but this was mostly housekeeping. We are currently working on lining up the next couple of dates to negotiate.
Directly after this meeting we met with management regarding the side letter on IS&T that was negotiated last round. One of the items in that side letter was moving towards the ability to have a work from home program. Management informed us that they are putting the final touches on the process and getting ready to implement this program in the coming weeks. This is great news and will hopefully provide an added benefit to our members working in that department. While not everyone in IS&T will be eligible (some members have to be on site for their jobs to be performed) and the roll out will be a trial (6 months) we are happy that this is finally getting off the ground!
In solidarity,
