HMH Local Retreat, May 4 & 5, 2019

HPAE Locals 5097 (The Harborage), Local 5058 (Jersey Shore), Local 5030 (Palisades) and Local 5138 (Southern Ocean) held their first annual retreat this past weekend to discuss a number of topics and to build relationships among all 4 locals to grow their power and prepare for bargaining with HMH next round.  Fourteen (14) members attended the event which touched on topics such as:

• Unionism and the opportunity to promote the union as a positive force in our workplace and society.
• Planning Process
• Opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses and to prioritize those opportunities and threats
• Issue Campaigns
• Mobilizing members
• New member engagement
• Inter-local communication
