COUNT EVERY VOTE!
HPAE congratulates victorious pro-labor candidates while calling for Every Vote to be Counted
After one of the most extraordinary elections in American history, HPAE sends out congratulations to the large slate of candidates that the union endorsed who are the declared victors in national, state and local races in this election cycle.
HPAE President Debbie White, RN, is standing with allies to demand that every vote be counted in the remaining outstanding races, including in the race for President of the United States.
White, who is also an American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Vice President, said, “The AFT passed a resolution demanding that every vote be counted. Our vote is our voice and a sacred right upon which freedom depends. We see no choice: To be true to ourselves and the values we hold dear, we must rise to the defense of democracy.”
HPAE is proud to congratulate Cory Booker, who won re-election to the U.S. Senate, Andy Kim, re-elected to the U.S. House Representatives for District 3, and Donald Norcross, who was also re-elected to the House of Representatives for District One. HPAE also wants to congratulate the following declared winners and those leading by a wide margin in their districts:

- Tom Malinowski, District 7
- Albio Sires, District 8
- Bill Pascrell, Jr., District 9
- Donald Payne, Jr., District 10
- Rebecca “Mikie” Sherrill, District 11
- Bonnie Watson Coleman, District 12
We remain hopeful for Amy Kennedy for the House of Representatives for District Two. In Monmouth County, freeholder candidates Michael Penna and Moira Nelson are leading in early vote count. Monica Townsend is in good shape in the early vote count for the Middlesex Borough Council. and, Rupande Mehta is polling well in NJ State Senate District 25.
