We Need Your Help!
HPAE is asking for your support as we demand Governor Murphy and the NJ lawmakers invest an additional $151 million in the University Hospital budget for upgraded and improved services to care for the most vulnerable of the community. Over the last 2 years, we have risked our lives while taking care of the community and are demanding that more be done to recruit and retain healthcare workers at this Hospital. University Hospital, which is wholly owned by the State of NJ, receives 75% of their operational budget from Medicare/Medicaid which are much lower than those of private insurers. As a result, the state has a moral obligation to ensure that this hospital receives the necessary funding to provide the level of quality care that is expected of a Level 1 trauma center and teaching facility.
If you are willing to help, please contact your local union rep so that you can sign a postcard that we plan to deliver to the lawmakers in Trenton as they determine the fate of the budget for University Hospital. Furthermore, if you would like to assist in this campaign, please feel free to contact your local union rep or email dbaker@hpae.org.
