Rutgers 5094 Bargaining Update: June 6, 2023
Following our last bargaining session, we reviewed the package presented by the employer with an open mind.
We met with Rutgers in good faith with thoughtful responses to their proposals. We agreed to the proposals that were supporting the current contract language in an effort to move things to settlement while holding the line of our membership’s demands on issues around wages, job security, trainings, tuition, and professional development.
We are serious about reaching an agreement with Rutgers that we can be proud to enforce, and our proposals show that movement. We are committed to achieving a strong contract for all members with real raises that our hardworking membership deserves.
We presented what we believe is a framework for settlement. As of 4:15 pm we continued to wait for Rutgers to respond to our reasonable proposals with movement from the employer that will open the potential to reach an agreement.
Just before 5pm, we listened to the presentation of Rutgers’ proposals. Rutgers agreed to the Union’s proposals where we accepted our own current contract language, management offered .25% more in the third year of their wage proposal.
We are expecting another bargaining date to be set and will share that information and link to join once it comes together.
