Local 5185 Negotiations Update, May 1, 2024
On April 30, your Union Negotiations Team met with management for our third session. We continued to discuss CarePoint’s bad financial situation, which has not improved.
Management presented its proposals, which included limitations on leave, taking away bonuses from many members, and mandatory on-call.
Our Union is strong, and we are standing by our demands for better pay, safe staffing and quality benefits for ALL.
What you can do:
It’s important we continue to show management we’re strong and united, march with us in the memorial Day Parade. Sign up here: https://actionnetwork.org/events/march-with-hpae-bayonne-memorial-day-parade
If you have not already, add your name to our petition: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/bayonne-medical-center-union-members-standing-strong-for-a-fair-contract/
As part of our statewide safe staffing campaign; we are asking local governments to pass resolutions supporting the NJ staffing bill and supporting us in negotiations.
Last week, the Hudson County Commissioners voted in support. The City Council has changed the date of the Vote on our Safe Staffing Resolution to May 22, 2024.
