Local 5089 Contract Settlement and Ratification Vote
On October 7, 2024, we met with University Hospital management to continue negotiating over our contract and we are pleased to announce that we have settled! This is the first time HPAE and University Hospital settled a contract so close to its expiration date, which means there will be little delay in getting your increases. It is also the very first time that we have been able to negotiate ENFORCEABLE STAFFING GUIDELINES into our contract!
There are no takeaways in this agreement.
Highlights include:
- Enforceable staffing guidelines
- Across-the-board increases and advantageous changes to wage scales for both bedside and non-bedside nurses
The ratification vote will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024, between 6:30am and 8:00pm in room D215. Our Bargaining Team and Union Representatives will be there to answer your questions about the new contract. This will be your only opportunity to vote on the contract. We are recommending a YES vote!
