Christ Hospital Pre-Bargaining Member Update
Preparation for Contract Negotiations
Our contract expires June 30th, do not lose focus on how important this is. Our fight is to keep all we have as well as gain more of what we need. Negotiation team invite letters have been out a few weeks, you still have time to let us know if that’s a job you want to take on with us, being a UNIT SPEAKER and or COMMUNICATOR during the entire process is crucial. Get in touch with a rep or one of us ASAP to do that.
CONTRACT ACTION TEAM MEMBERS, we will be in touch with you soon about plans for the week negotiations start, info to follow but late April most likely the target. Location TBD.
We are in the process of drafting proposals from all of our meetings, grievances, issues, surveys and communications with you all from the past 3 years. All RN members will approve those proposals at a meeting soon, date to be set. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED, your voice is your vote. Please don’t exclude yourself from this important part of prep and not be in the loop – this is OUR contract.
Show your Union Pride with our new Red Stethoscopes! REMEMBER TO KEEP WEARING YOUR RED STETHOSCOPES. Don’t forget the meaning and importance of showing our unity!
Ongoing Issues being addressed by Union Leaders
The union has met with the MCH department for multiple member needs along with HR and management. This type meeting may be necessary for Detox/Psych as well. DETAILS AND DATES TO FOLLOW. We hear you and are working on it.
We covered STAFFING FOR ALL UNITS, ICU, DETOX, 6T, had the highest incidence this quarter and last. This was all presented to management. Hiring continues in the form of techs and RNs. Plans for constant code purple were also focused on. Areas that do not have ratios have also seen a very high rise in work load, ED, and Periop/SDS – that was also discussed. Please note: the Bonus Shift Program ($20 per hour) is still in effect.
