Local 5004 negotiations update, May 22
We held our 12th negotiation session today. We presented our second economic proposal package – we reduced our across the board to 3% in addition to steps and the other increases we presented at last week’s membership meeting.
We continued to make incremental progress, but management continues to reject any contractual commitment to improving staffing or education. To hear management at the table, you would think that staffing is fantastic throughout the medical center – they claim it is far and above the staffing levels currently in J-1 of our contract.
It is important for management to hear from you! Make sure your manager knows that things are far from ideal. We will have stickers for everyone to wear on Thursday.
At the end of negotiations, we let them know that time is running out and it is time they get serious and address our concerns.
We return to the table on Thursday. Now is the time for all of us to let management know that they need to address our economic and professionals demands – or else!
