Join The Fight to Preserve Funding for University Hospital and Public Healthcare in NJ!

University Hospital in Newark was front and center as the premier academic medical center responding to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. Unfortunately, the Revised FY2021 state budget cut funding to Charity Care and NJ’s safety net hospital, University Hospital.

New Jersey has nearly 200,000 COVID-19 cases and more than 16,000 have died. New Jersey must invest in health care services, not penalize our healthcare heroes who were on the frontlines saving lives throughout the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. While we are aware of the state’s revenue shortfalls, we also understand that a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is likely. NJ needs greater budget funding for our state’s only public hospital, University Hospital in the FY2021 budget. Click here to send a letter to the Governor and your state legislators urging them to provide that funding.
