Pfizer reports that its promising new COVID-19 vaccine is 90% effective. The Food and Drug Administration is giving another drug company, Eli Lilly, the green light for emergency use of an antibody therapy that’s expected to help the immune system fight the disease. But the vaccine and therapies are only effective if the public buys in.
As Senior Correspondent Brenda Flanagan reports, that could be a major hurdle — even with New Jersey’s frontline health care workers. A survey of health care workers by the state Department of Health in October found that less than half of nurses and just two-thirds of doctors would agree to get the vaccine.
