Members Vote “Yes” for the HPAE Retiree Medical Trust (VEBA)

A majority of Local 5621 full-time and part-time employees voted to participate in the HPAE Retiree Medical Trust in an election administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Since this was an “all or nothing” election, all full-time and part-time RNs at the hospital will be participating in the Trust. The pre-tax, payroll deduction of $.20/hour for the Trust will probably be implemented in February.

Thanks to all of you who participated in this important membership referendum. By voting to participate in the Trust, we are establishing the foundation for gaining an even higher level of medical reimbursement benefits for retirees.
