Shared Work Program and Unemployment Fraud
We wanted to provide an update on the implementation of our fiscal emergency settlement, which you can read more about here: Settlement Summary, and provide some information about next steps.
What comes next?
We have shared our ratification results with Rutgers and they will transmit the workshare plan to the Department of Labor for approval. Then, Rutgers will compile the lists of those who are eligible for furloughs. We will review their accuracy. Shortly after, we can start requesting our preference for the day of week for furlough days from your departments.
Attention:
DO NOT apply for unemployment yet. More information will come from Rutgers and your union with details on how to apply for unemployment soon. To check if you were a victim of unemployment fraud in the last year please use this link. https://lwdwebpt.dol.state.nj.us/ClaimStatus/claimStatus.htm
Unemployment Fraud
If you were a victim of identity theft/unemployment fraud, please email us at www.hpae.org/contact-us/. We are still collecting names of those who were impacted.
You can report unemployment fraud at: https://www.myunemployment.nj.gov/help/contact-us/reportfraud/. Anyone who experiences this should also contact their local police department and get a police report number. And call One Source and let them know.
