Local 5004 Negotiations Update, May 24

Negotiations Session #7

Today, we met with EHMC negotiation team at 11:17AM. We gave EHMC two (2) revised proposals. HPAE attempted to engage the hospital’s negotiation team in discussions about staffing and education. We told them that these are major issues that need to be addressed in the contract.

EHMC response was “we are working on it” and “thank you”. The session ended at 11:30AM. HPAE negotiation team has been waiting now for 4 ½ hours for negotiations session to resume.

At 4PM, EHMC sent 3 proposals among them staffing, which essentially did not reduce the staffing ratios except for medical-surgical areas on the night shift by one and no recognition of charge nurse assignment on nights.
