Monday, June 27th Day of Action Postponed

Unfortunately, the NJ State legislators will not be in session on Monday June 27th therefore HPAE had no choice but to cancel the Lobby Day as originally planned. We are still working to put pressure on Governor Murphy and the NJ legislators to make funding for University Hospital a priority, which includes investing $151.1 million in the Hospital’s annual line-item budget for fiscal year 2023 and at least $600 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds towards building a new, state-of-the-art medical campus for NJ’s only public hospital. . It appears the budget will be worked out on Wednesday, June 29th and Thursday, June 30th being that the budget must be signed by the Governor before Friday, July 1st. On the other hand, we are scheduled to meet with Governor Murphy’s office on Monday, June 27th via Zoom and will share the link with those members that have signed up to attend the original Lobby Day activities.
