Our new contract with Salem Memorial Hospital/Inspira officially went into effect on June 1st. This comprehensive agreement has many more articles regarding our wages and working conditions than our prior contract. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the new language. We are also printing contract books and will distribute them later this summer.
We now have a new wage step scale for FT/PT staff that has 31 steps to correlate with your years of experience. Everyone should have received a letter from the hospital about where they will be placed on the scale. You have 30 days from receiving the letter to contest your placement. You can contact Human Resources with supporting documentation if you are challenging your new rate of pay.
Unit reps are the backbone of our union. They act as a liaison between the membership and officers to enforce our contract and help communicate concerns. We will be scheduling a rep training soon. Please reach out if you are interested in learning more and participating.
