Local 5004 – Englewood Strike Vote and Membership Meeting
We are so proud that an overwhelming majority of nurses at Englewood Hospital signed onto our petition demanding safe staffing, equitable pair, and respect at work! Last Friday, dozens of our members delivered this petition to management on the first day of contract negotiations; check out some of the attached pictures if you missed it!
Englewood Hospital management now has the opportunity to resolve these issues through our ongoing negotiations. However, if they haven’t made significant progress at the negotiations table by Thursday, May 16, we will be holding a strike vote to show how serious and united we are in our demand for a better Englewood Hospital. If passed, this vote would give our elected Negotiations Committee the authorization to call a strike, but does not necessarily mean that we will strike.
In order to make sure that everyone is informed before they cast their ballot, we will be holding five membership meetings throughout the day to update our members on negotiations and answer any questions. If you cannot make one of these meetings, you can stop by the Clinton Inn (145 Dean Dr., Tenafly) any time between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM on Thursday, May 16 to vote.
Will you stand with your coworkers and fight for a fair contract by voting YES to authorize a strike?
