HPAE local 5030 Bargaining Update #6 – April 30, 2024

STAFFING RATIOS FOR ALL BARGAINING UNITS

Today HPAE continued the discussion on staffing and management’s proposal was to reject our staffing ratios because in their opinion “ratios do not work.” We had several healthcare workers speak on the need for staffing ratios and provided several studies. HMH has not referenced any studies as they said in their update on 04/19. We know staffing ratios work and we need ratios now!

HMH did respond to some of our economic proposals on the table by putting some on hold and rejecting the rest. The union has all our proposals on the table and is ready to continue bargaining.

We reached an agreement on the discussion for a Physical Therapy Residency Program.

Our next bargaining sessions are Friday 05/03 and Thursday 05/09 (in person). We are encouraging members to join us on Thursday 05/02 in the hospital lobby as we prepare to March on the Boss to present our petition at 1pm.
