HPAE local 5030 Bargaining Update #7 – May 10, 2024

STAFFING RATIOS FOR ALL BARGAINING UNITS

Today (5/10), HPAE continued the discussion on staffing and management’s proposal was to reject our staffing ratios because in their opinion “ratios do not work.” We know staffing ratios work and we need ratios now!

HMH did respond to some of our economic proposals on the table by putting some on hold and offering a 1% merit raise and a student loan repayment program for eligible positions. The union has all our proposals on the table and is ready to continue bargaining.

Our next bargaining sessions are Tuesday 05/14 and Friday 05/17. We are encouraging members to join us on Monday 05/13 at Homewood Suites at 7am, 2pm,4pm and 7pm to take part in the strike vote and answer your questions. The strike vote will continue 05/14 – 05/16 down along the Hudson Parkway from 8am till 4pm. We need a huge turnout to send a message to HMH.
