HPAE local 5030 Bargaining May 17, 2024
Earlier this week, hundreds of our coworkers showed a historical level of support for the idea of a potential strike at Palisades Medical Center. Well over half of the local came out to vote, and well over 90% of those votes were YES!
Since March, members of our local have done sticker days, circulated a petition hundreds of us signed on to, marched on the boss to demand safe staffing, spoke up at negotiations about our stories and the needs of our patients.
Our message, from the beginning, has been that HMH must settle a fair contract for ALL employees at PMC, including safe staffing ratios and better pay for all of us. If they continue not to move toward a fair contract, we have to be prepared:
- Sign up for shifts for picket duty
- Attend our membership meeting and Strike Prep on Zoom on May 23rd at 8PM
- Attend our picket sign making party on May 29th (Location TBA)
