HPAE to announce overwhelming strike-vote approvals at three large New Jersey Hospitals

• Contracts expire on Friday at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Cooper University Health Care, and HMH Palisades Medical Center
• if unable to strike deals, HPAE members ready to hand in 10-day strike notice

HPAE members are in bargaining with three large health systems to negotiate enforceable staffing ratios into new contracts. Such ratios will improve working conditions, reduce workplace stress, and help in retention of staff.

Leaders of the three HPAE locals will announce at a press conference on Tuesday, May 28 that memberships have voted overwhelmingly to authorize them to strike if they cannot reach a deal when the contracts expire.
