Local 5185 Negotiations Update, June 11, 2024

On June 11, your negotiation team met with Management. CarePoint’s representatives were clearly shocked by all the messages they received from HPAE members over the past few days. CarePoint is feeling the pressure – Thank you for doing your part!

1. Management has tentatively agreed to freezing insurance costs, and to some smaller provisions that will make our next series of negotiations easier.
2. Management also provided much of the financial information we requested. We are working to get more, and our Union’s financial experts are evaluating the information we have now.
3. We are still standing strong on our demands for better pay and staffing!
4. We are making progress on our proposals for additional layoff and downstaffing protections – but no agreements have been made.
5. Management continues to claim there is no money for raises.
6. Our next negotiations session is June 17, in the evening.
