During Nurses Week, we celebrate all that nurses and healthcare professionals do to advocate for our patients and to deliver quality care. HPAE nurses and health professionals play a major role in making our health care system better.

HPAE Supports Detroit Teachers
Detroit teachers need our support. The Detroit School District is refusing to pay teachers for their work through the end of the school year. Now most of Detroit’s educators will miss five paychecks, amounting to 19% of their pay. Take action to show your support for over 1,500 Detroit teachers who called a “Sick Out” to send the message that a day’s work deserves a day’s pay.

Hillary Clinton Meets with Cooper RNs
Yesterday, Hillary Clinton met with with nurses, doctors, and administrators at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University Health Care to discuss the state of the health care system. HPAE Vice President Bernie Gerard, HPAE Secretary-Treasurer Barbara Rosen, Local 5118 President Doris Bell and other HPAE RNs from Cooper attended the event.
