New Jersey’s Department of Health needs adequate funding and staff to properly and routinely inspect our State’s healthcare facilities. Regular public monitoring of New Jersey hospitals will track progress to improve patient safety, reduce errors, comply with standards and regulations, address previous violations, enforce safe staffing levels, and increase overall patients’ satisfaction.

Keep Hospitals Safe
To stay safe on the road, the MVC inspects your car. To keep healthy, you get a doctor’s check-up every year. Yet, Governor Christie ended State inspections of New Jersey’s hospitals. Without regular State inspections, patient safety is jeopardized and the quality of care provided at each New Jersey hospital is less transparent.
Failure to Enforce Safety and Health Protections
NJ’s Department of Health needs adequate funding and staff to properly and routinely inspect our State’s healthcare facilities. It is equally important to make the results of all hospital inspections available to the people they serve. Regular public monitoring of NJ hospitals will track progress to improve patient safety, reduce errors, comply with standards and regulations, address previous violations, enforce safe staffing levels, and increase overall patients’ satisfaction.
