HPAE President Ann Twomey Responds to Trump’s Supreme Court Nomination
In her statement on President Trump’s nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, President Twomey noted that the nominee “poses a threat for the future of women’s health, for the health and safety of healthcare professionals and our workplace rights” and urged “Senate Democrats to protect working families by making a commitment to stop the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court.”

Booker and Twomey: Don’t Repeal the ACA
In a joint op-ed with HPAE President Ann Twomey published in the Star-Ledger, U.S. Senator Cory Booker emphasized that the repeal of the Affordable Care Act would have devastating consequences for Americans.

Labor Board Issues Complaint Against Wanaque
The National Labor Relation Board (NLRB) has found merit in two Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charges filed by HPAE against Wanaque, a nursing home and rehabilitation center in Haskell, NJ where HPAE Local 5107 represents 90 nurses. The NLRB issued a consolidated complaint against Wanaque, charging nursing home management with violating the labor law by suspending a union officer while performing his union duties and unilaterally changing the new hire wage rate for nurses at the facility.
