CarePoint hospital workers picket for ‘safe staffing’ and ‘fair contract’ as negotiations deadline looms

With their contract expiring at 7 a.m. tomorrow, CarePoint Health nurses, technicians and other workers at two Hudson County hospitals took to picketing today to make a final push for a “fair contract” and “safe staffing.”
Chanting slogans like “No contract, no peace” and holding signs reading “CarePoint Can Afford Safe Staffing,” more than 40 workers marched up and down the sidewalk in front of the Bayonne Medical Center in the early afternoon.
The Health Professionals and Allied Employees union also organized picketing in front of Christ Hospital in Jersey City.
