Local 5105 Bargaining Update, April 17, 2026

As we prepare for our second bargaining session on April 23rd, we wanted to remind you about two important upcoming actions you can do to help us collectively win a great contract.

  • We will be holding a sticker day on April 28th where we all wear stickers in the hospital to spread the word about the need for safe staffing in the hospital. There will be captains (unit rep and CAT team members) handing out stickers leading up to the day. We will also be distributing them at the employee entrance on April 28th at 0630am-0730am and 630pm-730pm as well.

Important note: You should know that management may ask you to take these stickers off. Wearing them is a protected legal right, and you can remind your managers of that if they do ask you to remove the sticker. However, if they order you to take them off, you should do that and then immediately report the situation to a member of the union leadership team.

  • We will be holding in-person Strike School presentations on April 29th at 8:00am and 8:00pm at the Mt Holly Moose (853 Woodlane Rd, Mt Holly, NJ 08060). The Strike School presentations will be an opportunity for us to discuss the logistics of a potential strike and answer any questions you may have. We obviously hope to avoid a strike, but you’ve told us loud and clear that safe staffing for our patients is an issue that we are ready to fight for. As we have been saying, we will if we have to. Finally, don’t forget that we have open bargaining and are encouraging members to attend! Here is a link to register for the April 23rd session as well as future bargaining sessions: https://hpae.org/2026/03/local-5105-2026-bargaining-sign-up/

We had a great showing with our support petition, with over 83% or members signing. But, if we are going to win enforceable nurse to patient ratios, highly competitive pay and benefits and a safe workplace for us and our patients, we need folks to get even more involved as we get closer to our contract expiration date of May 31th. We are excited to move forward on these important next steps with a unified and mobilized membership!

In solidarity,

Local 5105 Bargaining Committee
