Local 5105 Sticker Day Update and Strike School!!

As many of you know, Virtua is telling nurses to remove our
“Safe Staffing Saves Lives” stickers. This violates federal labor law and we
will be filing a charge with the National Labor Relations Board. You can let
your managers know that you have a right to wear the stickers, but If a manager
tells you to remove your sticker or go home, take it off and write down what
was said, who said it, where, and when, and get it to your union rep.

Virtua claims the sticker message could upset patients, but
an employer who has tolerated union and non-union stickers and buttons for
years cannot suddenly single out a union sticker because it doesn’t like the
message. To justify a ban like this they would have to show actual patient
complaints or documented incidents of disruption to care caused specifically by
the sticker.

While management’s behavior is disappointing, we definitely
accomplished our goal of showing our unity to the hospital. Make sure you
attend our strike school tomorrow (4/29) at 8:00am and 8:00pm at the Mt Holly Moose
(853 Woodlane Rd, Mt Holly, NJ 08060) to learn about the logistics of a
potential strike as well as what we will be doing to continue to put pressure
on management between now and May 31st. Click here to register: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScduaW9r7iNw-0mM8jXrHOokZLI7FZA91vMVkoPOf09aOduzg/viewform?usp=publish-editor
