Local 5097 Complete Care at Harborage Bargaining Update #5

The bargaining team met today (5/27/2026) with management who presented their economic proposal on wages. Management offered less than 3% over 3 years. The employer also proposed a new 25-year scale, asking employees to wait an additional 5 years to reach maximum pay. This 25-year scale is effectively a pay delay, not a pay increase.

Management continues to say that staffing is not an issue and that they should be able to float anyone at any time that hired in after 2013.

Wages and staffing remain top priority for the union. Over the last 4 bargaining sessions management has met less than 6 hours with the union and have still not addressed the issue of short staffing or a fair wage increase. The union is committed to strengthening the staffing committee so that you have a voice, and we are demanding a fair wage increase.

We have an additional bargaining date tomorrow and we hope that management comes prepared to respect our members and address staffing and offer a fair wage increase.

TAKE ACTION – Tell management that you deserve a fair wage and safe staffing. The contract expires on May 31 so stay updated on any actions the union may ask of you!
