Local 5097 Complete Care at Harborage Bargaining Update #6
After 5 bargaining sessions management today made no attempt to address the major issues that we have had on the bargaining table since day 1: A fair wage, improved staffing and floating.
When it comes to wages, we have proposed a fair Across the Board raise for each year 2026, 2027 and 2028. Complete Care has offered a proposal totaling less than 3% over a three-year period which does not meaningfully address inflation or value their employees and we do not consider that fair and respectful.
Management continues to say that staffing is not an issue and they are not willing to address the unions’ concerns. That is not good enough. Management has said they should be able to float anyone at any time hired in after 2013.
Is that acceptable to you?
We have agreed to bargain next Tuesday and Wednesday with the goal of reaching an agreement that we can take back to the membership for ratification, but management must address our outstanding issues. The contract does expire on Sunday night, but you are still protected by the provisions of our contract after it expires. Everything remains in effect until we sign a new agreement except the no-strike, no lockout language is no longer in effect. The facility may not be required to arbitrate grievances filed after the contract expires, which is an issue we will deal with in negotiations.
TAKE ACTION – Tell management that you deserve a fair wage and safe staffing. The contract expires on May 31 so stay updated on any actions the union may ask of you!
