Local 5105 Bargaining Update #9

Yesterday (5/27/2026) at bargaining we made incremental progress with management on our core issues of enforceable nurse to patient ratios, highly competitive pay and benefits and a safe workplace for us and our patients. Because of the pressure you all have put on management with our collective actions, we are seeing movement at the table. But we remain FAR apart on these issues, and are seeing very little movement on the critical issue of HET, which has had a devastating effect on so many of our members. It is critical that we have one more major show of power before out last scheduled day of bargaining tomorrow.

Later today we will be holding our Car Caravan at 6:00pm starting in front of the Aldi at Lumberton Plaza. This is the last major public action we’re taking before our last scheduled day of bargaining, so we strongly encourage everyone who can to participate! We will be circling the hospital along with our giant mobile billboard to send one more clear message to management right before our last scheduled bargaining day. The whole community is invited to come!!! Here’s the link to register: Here’s the link to register.

We also want to remind you that we’ll be holding our membership meeting on Monday, June 1st at 8:00am, 4:30pm Virtual on Zoom and 8:00pm at the Mount Holly Moose. Depending on how bargaining goes, this will be either be a meeting where we suggest ratification of a new contract or a meeting where we discuss next steps, including potentially recommending and planning for a strike. We will send out a communication after tomorrow’s session to let you know where we stand.

Throughout these months of bargaining, you all have stood behind us and shown the Hospital that we will do what it takes to win the contract that we deserve. Now, we must continue to demonstrate our unity as we enter the is the final scheduled day of bargaining. The 726 nurses who voted YES can’t be wrong!!! It’s time for Virtua to get it done!!!

In solidarity,

Your Local 5105 Bargaining Committee
