Local 5621 Union Leadership Announcement

We are writing to you, our fellow Inspira bargaining unit nurses, to inform you that after much heartfelt deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to step away from our positions on the Local 5621 Executive Board as President and Grievance Chair at the end of June.

We are very proud of the numerous accomplishments we have been a part of over the years. We have worked hard on forming strong labor-management and staffing teams, developing cohesive working relationships with management, pushing for fair wages, and filing countless grievances on behalf of our fellow nurses.  Allowing and encouraging nurses to have a voice in their nursing practices has been a high-ranking priority for us.  It has truly been a labor of love!

We feel confident that the incoming President, Tanya Allen, and Treasurer, Jen Thurston, will strongly represent all our bargaining unit members by continuing to uphold and build upon our resilient foundation. They stepped up when we needed Board members and have been strong leaders since day one. Tanya and Jen will assume their new roles effective on July 1st.

Please, remember that as a union we have strength and solidarity when we stick together as one whole unit. Please remember that we are all “The Union,” and as such, should all be involved in keeping our Union Strong!

In solidarity,

April Ferrara
