Local 5105 Bargaining Update: Negotiations June 9th
As you know, we gave management notice of our intent to strike on June 16th at 7am. We have confirmed next Tuesday, June 9th as our next bargaining date with the employer. We’ll be at the Aloft Hotel (558 Fellowship Rd, Mt Laurel, NJ 08054.) All members are encouraged to attend!
While we hope to come to an agreement with the hospital then, now is the time for us to ramp up our preparations for an Unfair Labor Practice Strike. Here are three important things you can do:
- SIGN UP FOR YOUR PICKET HIFT: Every member needs to pick out which shifts they will take on the picket line! Here’s the link to sign up: Picket Line and Strike Committee Sign Up Form
- BECOME A STRIKE CAPTAIN: The Strike Captains are members who coordinate the picket line, mobilize strikers, and collaborate with the other committees to ensure victory. While we’ll be serving as strike captains along with the CAT team, we will need to recruit more members to effectively maintain our picket.
- JOIN A DIFFERENT STRIKE COMMITTEE: We are looking for members who can help with Food and Logistics, Morale, Community Outreach, Social Media, and Safety. Click the link below to sign up for a committee and to get more info about how we can better prepare to strike:

Let’s continue to show the hospital that we are willing to fight for a contract that includes enforceable nurse to patient ratios, substantially better pay, reduces the financial hardship caused by HET, and addresses health and safety. It’s time for Virtua to get it done!!!
