Phoenix Center Important Union Bargaining Update, June 16, 2026
Yesterday (6/15), we met with Management. We made significant progress on Staffing and Wages.
Because of the progress we made, we did NOT give a ten-day Strike Notice, though we are still prepared to give it at our next session if needed.
For Staffing; Management proposed ‘minimums’ for each floor that are below, the staffing levels we typically need. They were also unclear about what situations would require them to go above those minimums or what actions they would take to handle short staffing. However, they expressed openness to work with us to come to more clear language.
For Wages; Management Proposed 3% this year, 2.5% next year, and 2.75% in 2028. We are also making progress towards a fair wage table that moves over time (the raises in our last contract were 3%-2%-2%).
Management has still not provided the insurance information we need.
To be clear; this progress is 100% because all union members have stood strong. Because of your support, we are well on our way to an historic contract we can be proud of!
Our next session is tomorrow (6/17) at the Haskell Holiday Inn 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. If you cannot attend in-person, you can attend via Zoom: https://aft.zoom.us/meeting/register/MABAsWhdSzmVh-iDW5ntiw
