Phoenix Center Important Union News, June 2, 2026

Yesterday (June 1), Union Members met with Management for our 6th Session.

Management Continues to bargain in bad faith. They still have not provided insurance and staffing information. They continue to reject our demands for Safe Staffing and only increased their wage offer by 0.25%.

We made some progress. We came to ‘Tentative Agreemants’ (TAs) on 401(k), Tuition, and Bereavement. In bargaining, Tentative Agreements are signed and set to the side, allowing us to focus on the remaining issues. However, management refused to sign them and insists on being able to reopen our TAs when they want. This is unlawful and shows that they are not interested in bargaining in good faith.

At the end of the session, we informed management that if we do not settle a fair contract, with Fair Wages, Safe Staffing, and Better Benefits at our next session on June 10, we may have to give them a Ten-Day Strike Notice at the end of the session.

On Thursday, June 4, we will have Strike Captain Training. All members are encouraged to attend. We will discuss logistics and roles for a potential strike. There will be a session in the Morning and the Evening: Morning: https://aft.zoom.us/meeting/register/R4UcVwAmRbCkKhr-tTpCdw Evening: https://aft.zoom.us/meeting/register/28e03L0JR36McctkH9mynA
