HPAE 5089 Rutgers Open Bargaining Session and Member Activities
It is clear that we need to put more pressure on Rutgers to win a strong contract. It’s been about three months of working under an expired contract and management has not yet responded to any of our financial proposals. We had a session scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th, but management cancelled it.
Our next scheduled session is Thursday, October 15th. Management has indicated that they will provide responses to our wage proposals then.
We want to make this an open bargaining session where members can participate in the process. We are inviting our members to attend the session in person on October 15th in the old cafeteria in the Clinical Academic Building, 125 Paterson Street, New Brunswick, NJ. We are also asking our members to step up and get involved in different ways to show our unity and strength. For example, we want to recruit people to make social media videos, talk to coworkers, and recruit non-members.
