VNA of Englewood and Essex Negotiations Update, September 24, 2026

We met with management today. They began with a presentation on future AI documentation systems, team-based caseloads and new employee safety technology. Management asked us to reconsider our proposals based on these possible future changes. We made clear that we cannot bargain based on what might happen and that their presentation did not respond to our September 10 proposals.

Management responded to only two proposals:

Article 35: A two-year contract

Article 18: Agreement with our 14-day discipline timeline, but management wants additional language regarding time for investigations.

We also reviewed our workload proposal and emphasized the need to credit non-visit work, travel, documentation and patient acuity, while preventing forced overtime. At management’s request, we submitted lists of non-visit activities and non-nursing tasks that could be handled by office staff.

Our next bargaining session is September 30.
