Local 5030 Member Update, October 23, 2026

Thank You for Standing Together!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our March on the Boss to demand safe staffing at our hospital. Your participation sent a strong message that our members are united and will not remain silent while chronic short staffing continues to affect our working conditions and patient care.

Unfortunately, despite delivering our unsafe staffing petition to HMH last week, management’s response has been nothing. No response, no follow-up, and no meaningful action to address the concerns our members continue to raise. This lack of response is disappointing and unacceptable.

But we are not giving up! Next week, we will be STICKERED UP to continue drawing attention to the unsafe staffing crisis and to show management that we expect answers and real solutions—not silence.

Also, we want to remind all members that if you are not receiving your full 30-minute lunch break, you should complete a Missed Lunch Break Form to document the missed break. Management is responsible for ensuring employees are properly compensated for time worked, including situations where a meal break is missed and pay is owed. Failure to pay employees for compensable time worked may constitute wage theft and a violation of wage and hour laws.

Our strength is in our unity. Every action we take sends a message that safe staffing matters, our patients matter, and our members deserve better.

Wear your stickers with pride, stand together, and let’s keep the pressure on HMH until we see meaningful action!
