RSVP Here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/cZi4TVmu9W

The Agenda will include:

  • How to enforce Safe Staffing.
  • How to understand your paycheck.
  • Our fight for a fully-funded 401(k).
  • Update on grievances / arbitrations.
  • Our fight against increased Parking Fees.
  • Solidarity with Secaucus & Hoboken workers

Union Win – 401(k)!

After a joint effort by Secaucus and Bayonne workers, Management has agreed to form a ‘Fiduciary Committee’ to govern the 401(k), which will include HPAE members.

Since 2022, our 401(k) has not had a fiduciary officer (someone legally required to make decisions that benefit you financially). This Fiduciary Committee will allow workers to have a seat at the table and get rid of consultants who are charging us excessive fees. Thank you to everyone who provided evidence for this fight.

We are still fighting to get every Employer Match Paid.

ACLS/BLS/PALS:

If you have an expiring certification and haven’t yet, be sure to send your updated documents to [email protected] or to your supervisor.

Solidarity with Secaucus:

Last week, HPAE Members at Secaucus Hospital had their first Bargaining session for a new Contract. Our union brothers & sisters are fighting for Fair Pay, Safe Staffing, more Disciplinary Protections, and the right to support other HPAE Units through a Sympathy Strike.

This is incredibly important, since a big win at Secaucus will put us in a stronger position when our contract is up in 2028. So, we will be doing everything we can to support them.

Don’t Forget to Vote:

Election Day is November 3.

Early In-Person voting is now-November 1.

Check your Registration, find your polling place, and learn more at: https://hpae.org/campaigns/election-center/

Christ Hospital:

Ever since HRH Illegally closed Christ Hospital and put over 200 HPAE members out of work, our union has been working to hold HRH accountable and re-open Christ Hospital.

If you have not already, tell your legislators to pass Bill S.4395/A.5185 to give the Department of Health the power to enforce The Law against HRH and prevent future illegal closures: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/demand-stronger-oversight-of-njs-healthcare-facilities

Tomorrow, join the Save Our Hospital Coalition and local officials for a townhall: https://actionnetwork.org/events/jersey-city-hospital-town-hall?source=direct_link&

In solidarity,

HPAE 5185 Executive Board
