Local 5094 Special officer elections for Co-President, Rutgers New Brunswick/Piscataway/Stratford/Camden and Rowan is complete. The American Arbitration Association has counted and certified the results.
Bargaining Update: UH Fails to Present Wages Proposals
The Administration has failed to present any update on wages over the last two negotiations sessions, despite having added an extra session. They are trying to stall us, hoping we will back down.
Union Benefits Update for HPAE local 5058
HPAE members are covered by professional liability insurance through HPAE/AFT. For members of local 5058, until now there has been an 18-cent deduction per paycheck for this benefit.

We met with management and gave our economic proposals for fair and competitive wages. We discussed inflation, cost of living increases, the shortage of nurses and the need to be competitive in order to recruit and retain nurses.
Unionized Nurses ratify contract that sets enforceable Safe Staffing Ratios at University Hospital
Members of HPAE Local 5089 overwhelmingly ratified a new contract with enforceable nurse-to-patient ratios as well as a new wage scale and benefit standards, which will help recruit and retain nurses.

CarePoint is very close to a final deal with Hudson Regional Hospital. It will create a four-hospital system, with CarePoint Running Christ & Hoboken and Hudson Regional running HRH & Bayonne Medical Center. There will be more updates next week.
