Happy Nurses Week to all! What an incredible and informative session in honor of HPAE Nurses. We, your HPAE Executive Board, hope that all attendees had a good time and enjoyed the abundance of knowledge and solidarity in the room.
Yesterday (5/13) was a turning point in these negotiations. We had meaning discussions around the RN Safety and Violence Committee.
Today (5/13), we had our 7th negotiation session. While we had hoped to receive a response from management regarding our economic and staffing proposals, they expressed the need for more guidance and time to give a comprehensive response.
Today (5/10), HPAE continued the discussion on staffing and management’s proposal was to reject our staffing ratios because in their opinion “ratios do not work.” We know staffing ratios work and we need ratios now!
Please find the attached bargaining newsletter from the National Bargaining Committee. Also, this is the last weekend to submit your nominations for the local bargaining committee, so send them in ASAP
Yesterday (5/9), your Union officers and reps met with Management to discuss our first Staffing Grievance. We settled the grievance, meaning it will not be sent to Arbitration.
Nurses make all the difference. They demonstrate discipline, resilience, and dedication to the clients we serve on a daily basis. We see that consistently with our Nurses here at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.
Cooper was supposed to present their health insurance proposal on Wednesday. They did NOT come through. They said the representatives from Conner Strong were not prepared to present the information.
Today (May 7), we had our 6th negotiation session. We provided management with our full economic package – wages, differentials and the like. They did not respond to these proposals as, in their words, they do not have our staffing
We did not reach any tentative agreements on Wednesday. They gave us several counter proposals to review all of which were non-economic. We reviewed them and will respond on May 8. Nothing earth shattering.
Today (5/3), we had our 4th negotiation session. We had some back and forth regarding non-economic proposals. A major area of focus today was the ability to access all things related to scheduling, at home.
