HPAE Local 5030 members have overwhelmingly ratified a historic contract with Hackensack Meridian Health, the owner of Palisades Medical Center, that establishes patient-to-staff ratios for the first time in the hospital’s history. HPAE President Debbie White, RN, congratulated HPAE Local
We have a reached a Tentative Agreement!! After a long and grueling day of bargaining we reached a settlement. Thanks to all of you standing with us in this fight we did this together!
The Bargaining Committee met with Hackensack meridian Health today to continue negotiating on wages and staffing ratios.
WE WILL BE GIVING AN UPDATE ON CURRENT NEGOTIATIONS.
HMH came to the table today with their “final package” on staffing and wages. Which does not include a fair wage or safe staffing ratios for all job titles. We will be giving notice on Monday for an upcoming membership
Despite years of studies showing ratios do improve patient care and retain workers, HMH continues to not move.
About 3,000 nurses have voted to authorize a strike at three New Jersey hospitals ... as they battle for mandatory staffing ratios to be placed in their contracts, union officials announced Tuesday.
HMH responded to our economic proposals on the table by proposing an increase to the shift diff starting in 2025 and the Union countered with an additional increase taking effect upon ratification.
HPAE members are in bargaining with three large health systems to negotiate enforceable staffing ratios into new contracts. Such ratios will improve working conditions, reduce workplace stress, and help in retention of staff.
The City Council in Jersey City has passed a resolution supporting “safe staffing standards in collective bargaining agreements, and proposed legislation and hereby urges the NJ Legislature to pass the ‘Patient Protection and Safe Staffing Act,’”
