Many hospital emergency rooms are crowded on the weekends. But at University Hospital in Newark, Mondays can also get so overwhelming at the state’s only public hospital, that the ER staff calls it: “Medical Mondays.”
HPAE locals 5089 and 5094 met on 4/26/22 for our first session of negotiations with Rutgers University. We are the first individual Union to begin negotiations at the University.

After fighting back major concessions proposed by the Hospital, HPAE has reached a tentative agreement for a new contract.
