October 18, 2019We made our wage increase proposal for both worksites. For West Orange nurses our focus is making sure the wage scale is expanded so more experienced nurses are rewarded appropriately for their years of experience.
We had our opening sessions for contract negotiations with VNA last week. The Essex/Hudson nurses bargained on September 12th and the Englewood nurses bargained on September 13th.

On January 26th, HPAE members came out for a training on handling grievances and representing their co-workers in disciplinary procedures.
The Nomination/Election Committee announces an election for Local 5107 officers, President, three Vice Presidents, secretary/treasurer. There are also Representative positions open.
Since this outbreak HPAE has held weekly meetings to provide a safe place for workers to grieve and connect with their colleagues who are struggling to continue to treat their patients while working to stop the spread of the virus.
