Sunrise House Workers Vote to Join HPAE
By a nearly 5 to 1 vote, addiction treatment workers at Sunrise House, part of the national for-profit chain, American Addiction Centers, voted to join HPAE, New Jersey’s largest union of healthcare professionals. Sunrise House workers look forward to bargaining their first contract to address patient safety and workers’ rights.
HPAE’s Organizing Director Is Retiring
Today is HPAE Organizing Director, Larry Lipschultz’ last day at HPAE, as he is retiring after nearly 25 years on our staff. Larry has played a central role in the success of HPAE’s organizing program. Due to Larry’s leadership, HPAE has grown to be the largest union of nurses and health care workers in NJ.
Nurses Reach Tentative Agreements with Inspira Health Network
After three contract extensions and the involvement of a federal mediator, 1,300 registered nurses represented by HPAE have reached tentative agreements with Inspira Health Network. Upon a successful vote to ratify these agreements, nurses at Inspira hospitals in Vineland, Elmer and Bridgeton with HPAE Local 5131 and nurses at Woodbury Hospital with HPAE Local 5621 will be covered under the new contracts.

After months of preparation and tests, HPAE’s new website is now available to members and the public. The new website is much more user-friendly and you’ll find all of the resources that you need to connect with your union.
