Watch the video & stand with HPAE locals at HMH
Every day health professionals speak out to protect their patients, and as a union we go beyond the walls of our facility to help our communities understand the risks and incidents that occur when we are caring for too many patients. HPAE members working in Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) facilities want you to hear their story. Just click and hear why they are fighting for a contract that protects patients’ safety and workers’ rights.
After contracts expired in July, nurses and health professionals continued to bargain with HMH, the most profitable non-profit healthcare corporation in NJ. We know HMH can afford safe patient limits. On Wednesday, HPAE Local 5097 at the Harborage ratified a new contract that does improve patient safety standards and commits HMH to hiring more CNAs in the nursing home.
Meanwhile, HPAE Local 5030 at Palisades Medical Center, HPAE Local 5058 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and HPAE Local 5138 at Southern Ocean Medical Center have announced that they will conduct informational pickets. I urge you to support our colleagues fighting for fair contracts.
We appreciate your ongoing support during this labor dispute. Please watch the video and share on social media with your friends and family.
