Local 5142 Bargaining Update, March 18, 2020

We had great turnout at our bargaining session last Friday, and it made a big difference. We had a substantive discussion on the hospitals response to the Coronavirus outbreak and other bargaining issues. We will finally be discussing economic issues at our bargaining session this Friday. The hospital clearly knows that we are unified as nurses, and this will make a big difference at the negotiating table. Stay tuned to for an update on next steps after bargaining on Friday.

In terms of Coronavirus, please document any stories or issues as it relates to health and safety at the hospital. We are working hard collectively as a Union to ensure that our members are protected as much as possible during this outbreak, but we need to know what’s happening on the ground. Get in touch with a bargaining committee member with issues as they arise and we will work together to make sure the hospital is as prepared for this crisis as possible.

This is a trying time for all of us, but it’s clear that our Union is coming together in solidarity at this critical time. Together, we will get through this crisis, and with a strong Union contract.
